CONCORD, N.C. – A $1,500 purse has been posted for Senior Pro Gas Animal racers at round three of the 2013 RLV Gold Cup Series, the Baker Racing Engines Nationals July 5-7 at Camden, Ohio’s G&J Kartway.
The $1,500 will be distributed between Friday night’s Animal Heavy Money Race and the Saturday / Sunday Senior Pro Gas points class.
An extra $500 has been posted for Friday night’s Money Race.
The first Pro Gas-powered kart across the stripe Friday evening will earn an extra $200 on top of the regular 75 percent payback. The second Pro Gas finisher will earn an extra $150. The third-place Pro Gas finisher gets $100 extra and fourth will get $50 extra. Product will be awarded to the fifth-place Pro Gas finisher.
Methanol-powered Animals are allowed and encouraged to enter the Money Race. Methanol Animals receive the regular 75 percent payback.
The latest twist to the 2013 WKA Gold Cup Series is that the Senior Pro Gas Animal points class will race for a purse at Camden.
$1,000 has been added to the Saturday and Sunday Senior Pro Gas Animal division. The overall weekend winner will earn a $500 bonus. Second-place will earn $250; third-place gets $150; fourth gets $100 and product will go to fifth place.
This payout is based on the overall weekend. The driver with the best average finish between Saturday and Sunday’s Senior Pro Gas main events will win the $500. The second-best average finish gets $250, and so on.
In the event of a tie, the best finisher in Sunday’s Senior Pro Gas feature will win the tie-breaker.
“Motocross” style points will be used to calculate the standings.
Winner = 0 points
2nd = 2
3rd = 3
4th = 4
5th = 5
- Driver A finishes first on Saturday and fourth on Sunday, giving him a total of four (4) points.
- Driver B finishes second on Saturday and second on Sunday, giving her a total of four (4) points.
- Driver C finishes third on Saturday and first on Sunday, giving him a total of three (3) points.
Driver C, with three points, is the top weekend finisher. Driver A and Driver B would tie with four points each. Driver B would win the tie-breaker because she finished better in Sunday’s race.
