P1 Engines Wins Coast To Coast

Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. (August 13, 2012) - Continuing to roll through the summer racing schedule, P1 Engines powered drivers arepiling up race wins, podium results and pole positions across the United States. In the past two weeks, the World Karting Association (WKA) Manufacturer's Cup and the International Kart Federation (IKF) Region 7 continued their racing programs and P1 Engines found the way to the top step of the podium on multiple occasions in a variety of different racing divisions.

"It was another strong weekend for P1 Engines," expressed Jesus Vasquez. "It is a very cool to see our drivers win across the country in both regional and national competition whether I am at the track to help them or not. I am extremely excited about the rest of the year and onwards into 2013."

Entering the penultimate round of the WKA Manufacturer's Cup, P1 Engines drivers would descend on the Concept Haulers Motor Speedway in Norway, Illinois as championship battles continued to take shape. Tommy Anderson would continue his winning ways once again as he took the checkers in the hotly contest TaG 1 Final on Saturday. Sunday would see the hot shoe score a third place result after starting from the tail of the field due to a mechanical DNF in the heat race.

Georgia's Chris Wehrheim made it a P1 Engines 1-2 finish in Saturday's TaG 1 Final as he managed to score another solid result. Back on track on Sunday, Wehrheim turned his pole position into another second place result and will enter the final round in three weeks time as the point leader and favorite for the overall title.

Mason Chelootz was the dominant driver in the Parilla Leopard Only class as he flexed his muscles when the wheel-to-wheel action commenced. Taking the heat race win and main event victory, Chelootz added to P1 Engines' weekend win total as he continues to impress in the TaG divisions.

TaG Masters pilot Scott Ferris was untouchable in Illinois as he swept the entire weekend of competition. Scoring both pole positions, both heat race wins and both main event victories, Ferris is in total control of the TaG Masters championship as he enters the final round of the series.

Komet Junior Heavy pilot Skylar Robinson claimed the pole position and heat race win in Saturday's competition. Looking to stay on top in the final, Robinson broke out to an early lead but would be forced to settle for the second step on the podium when the final checkered flag flew.

Back across the country to Santa Maria, California, P1 Engines would show their prowess in the IKF Region 7 program. Hunter Corbit would lead the way scoring a pair of victories in KPV1 Heavy and PRD Junior 1 and add another pole position to his resume.

Nick Ramirez would add another pair of pole positions to P1 Engines weekend total as he scored the fastest lap in the KPV 2 category on his way to another victory. Starting on the inside front row for the KPV 2 Heavy class, Ramirez would cross the line in the second position for another solid podium result. KPV 1 driver Carter Herrera had a trying weekend in Santa Maria but showed his speed with a pole position.
