11.14.2012 - WKA announces Tech Inspector and Race Official training and certification schedule

Last Updated: Wednesday, 28 November 2012 22:03

CONCORD, N.C. – It’s that time of year when our 2- and 4-cycle SFI/WKA Certified Technical Inspectors and Race Officials have concluded their work for the 2012 Competition Year and begin to look forward to their training and certification requirements for 2013. Because SFI/WKA Certification lasts for two years, about half of our Tech Inspectors and Race Officials will need to be recertified. To give them adequate time to plan to attend a seminar and take the required examinations, WKA is announcing its training schedule for the 2013 Competition Year. Following is the tentative schedule. It also includes trade shows and swap meets where WKA will be present.

The 2012 seminars have been revised and expanded to include the latest technical updates as well as more information on the role of the tech inspector, pre-race tech inspection, tech room procedures and the protest and appeal process. WKA members who wish to become certified as WKA Technical Inspectors will take the SFI/WKA Certification Examination at the conclusion of the seminars. Those passing the open book examination will receive a 2-year WKA/SFI Technical Inspector certification.
