2012 mc logoCONCORD, N.C. – The WKA Board of Trustees met last week via conference call for their first meeting of 2013.

Two important items to result from the meeting involve the WKA Mazda / Bridgestone Manufacturers Cup Series, set for round two this April 5-7 at Carolina Motorsports Park in Kershaw, S.C.

Yamaha Junior and Komet Junior will run the same engine package the classes ran at the Daytona KartWeek opener and throughout the 2012 season. Further testing will be done throughout the year, however, there will be no change in the engine rules during the 2013 competition year.

Komet Sportsman has been added to the day two (Sunday) program at the remaining 2013 Man Cup nationals, beginning at Kershaw. The Saturday Komet Sportsman class will run a best five out of six races toward the national championship. Sunday’s Komet Sportsman class will run a best four of five races with the opening race at Kershaw.

The two Komet Sportsman divisions are the only Man Cup classes not running a best nine of 12 format toward championship standings.

Last week’s meeting minutes will be posted on http://www.worldkarting.com/index.php/downloads in the coming days.
