CONCORD, N.C. – The WKA Vega / TS Racing Road Racing Series driven by Mazda returns to action this weekend for the first of two Dart Kart Speedway Club-hosted nationals of the season.
The national tour makes its third of seven 2012 stops at Belding, Michigan’s Grattan Raceway, a challenging 2.0-mile winding road course located just east of Grand Rapids.
This weekend’s show marks the first WKA national event at Grattan since 2006. It’s only the third time a WKA national has ever been held at the popular Michigan venue.
Over 40 national divisions and a host of local options will take the green flag once racing kicks off Saturday morning. Seven race groups run Saturday before six groups conclude the weekend on Sunday.
Pre-entry counts are strong for the event and officials expect another solid turnout after good showings for the Daytona Championships and Johnny Jacumin Memorial at Kershaw, S.C., in March.
Pit pass sales and parking open at 6 p.m. Thursday. Sponsors are admitted first. Gates swing open at 7 a.m. Friday, pre-tech at 8 a.m. and practice runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
