2014 WKA MANUFACTURERS CUP SERIES CLASS RULES

 

JUNIOR SPORTSMAN CLASSES

214.22 YAMAHA ROOKIE SPORTSMAN (FINAL 1 & FINAL 2):
DRIVER REQ: Attained Age 7 through 10.
ENGINE: Yamaha, Only heads with OEM casting "Yamaha" and cylinders with Y3 or Y4 and 787 are legal
EXHAUST: RLV YBX muffler. (See Section 554.1 and Figure 554.1) 
CARBURETOR: Walbro WA55B with WA55B manifold (See Sections 601.6 and 601.7).
FUEL: Spec Fuel.
MINIMUM WEIGHT: 225 lbs. for karts with wheelbase between 35" and 39.75" (100 cm). 215 lbs. for karts with 39.75" wheelbase and up. (See 611.14a for kart measurements and 611.14b for bodywork measurements). 
SPEC TIRE: Bridgestone YLC – 10 x 4.5 - 5 front and rear.

OTHER: (1) Gear Ratio 5.30 Min., No Max. (2) Drivers who have competed in the Cadet, Yamaha, or Komet Piston Valve Sportsman classes at any WKA Sanctioned National or Divisional event are not eligible to race in Yamaha Rookie Sportsman. (3) Past year champion must move out of the class. (4) Class runs both race days for one championship. (5) Class runs on same tires both days.

 

214.1 CADET SPORTSMAN (FINAL 1 & FINAL 2):
DRIVER REQ: Attained Age 8 through 12.
ENGINE: Comer K-80.
FUEL: Spec Fuel.
MINIMUM WEIGHT: 235 lbs.
KART: The Cadet Kart is the only legal kart in this class. Overall maximum length 72", Wheelbase 35" minimum. and 41" maximum. (See Figure 201 for kart measurements and 211 for bodywork measurements). 
SPEC TIRE: Bridgestone YLC – 10 x 4.5 - 5 front and rear.
OTHER: (1) Gear Ratio 5.30 Min., NO Max. (2) Races two days for a single championship. (Class runs on same tires both days.)

 

214.2 YAMAHA SPORTSMAN (FINAL 1 & FINAL 2):
DRIVER REQ: Attained Age 8 through 12.
ENGINE: Yamaha, Only heads with OEM casting "Yamaha" and cylinders with Y3 or Y4 and 787 are legal
EXHAUST: RLV SSX-V #7548. (See Section 554.3 and Figure 554.3) 
CARBURETOR: Walbro WA55B with WA55B manifold (See Sections 601.6 and 601.7).
FUEL: Spec Fuel.
KART: Cadet or standard kart chassis allowed.
MINIMUM WEIGHTS: 255 lbs.
SPEC TIRE: Bridgestone YLC – 10 x 4.5 - 5 Front and rear.
OTHER: (1) Gear Ratio 5.30 Min., NO Max. (2) NO AXLE CLUTCHES. (3) Class runs on same tires both days. (4) To achieve parity between chassis types WKA reserves the right to adjust weight differential at any time between.

 

214.3 KOMET SPORTSMAN (FINAL 1 & FINAL 2):
DRIVER REQ: Attained Age 8 through 12.
ENGINE: Komet Piston Valve 
FUEL: Spec Fuel.
KART: Cadet or standard kart chassis allowed.
MINIMUM WEIGHT: 255 lbs.
EXHAUST: Komet Piston Valve Sportsman spec header & pipe (See Section 603.12 and Fig. 603.12). HPV 1 Pipe through 2011.
CARBURETOR: Walbro WA55B or HPV1
SPEC TIRE: Bridgestone YLC – 10 x 4.5 - 5 Front and rear.
OTHER: (1) Gear Ratio 5.30 Min., NO Max. (2) Class
races two days for a single championship. (Class runs on same tires both days.)

  

214.13 KID KARTS:
DRIVER REQ: Attained Age 5 through 7
ENGINE: Comer C-51 only. (See Section 621 in 2014 WKA Tech Manual)
FUEL: Spec Fuel.
MINIMUM WEIGHT: 150 lbs.
TIRES: Bridgestone YLC, front & rear size 10 x 4:50-5
GEAR RATIO: 10/89
OTHER: (1) See Section 900 in WKA Tech Manual for chassis and bodywork specifications. (2) Race laps and track configuration may be adjusted by Race Director. (3) Class runs both race days for a single national championship. (4) Class runs on same tires both days. (5) Kid Kart season starts at second Manufacturers Cup event of the competition year.

 

JUNIOR CLASSES

214.4 YAMAHA JUNIOR (FINAL 1 AND FINAL 2):
DRIVER REQ: Age 12 through 15
ENGINE (S): Yamaha, only heads with OEM casting "Yamaha" and cylinders with Y3 or Y4 and 787 are legal.
FUEL: Spec Fuel. 
MINIMUM WEIGHTS:320 lbs.
EXHAUST: RLV SSX-V #7548. (See Section 554.3 and Fig. 554.3) 
SPEC TIRES: Bridgestone YLC – 10 x 4.50-5 front, 11 x 6.00-5 rear
OTHER: (1) NO AXLE CLUTCHES

  

214.5 KOMET JUNIOR (FINAL 1 AND FINAL 2):
DRIVER REQ: Age 12 through 15. 
ENGINE: Komet Piston Valve
FUEL: Spec Fuel.
MINIMUM WEIGHTS: 320 lbs.
EXHAUST: Komet Piston Valve Junior spec header and pipe (See Section 603.12 and Figure. 603.12) HPV 2 Pipe through 2011.
SPEC TIRES: Bridgestone YLC – 10 x 4.50-5 front, 11 x 6.00-5 rear

  

214.5 PARILLA (TAG) JUNIOR (FINAL 1 AND FINAL 2):
DRIVER REQ: Age 12 through 15. 
ENGINE: IAME X30 or IAME Leopard
FUEL: Spec Fuel.
MINIMUM WEIGHTS: 320 lbs. (either engine)
EXHAUST PIPE/ SILENCER: Must be stock pipe and restricted exhaust header as supplied by manufacturer for each specific engine. Parilla Leopard requires 25mm header. Parilla X30 requires 29mm header.
CARBURETOR: Must be stock carburetor as supplied by manufacturer of each specific engine.
SPEC TIRES: Bridgestone YLC – 10 x 4.50-5 front, 11 x 7.10-5 rear

  

SENIOR CLASSES

214.9 SENIOR PISTON PORT (FINAL 1 AND FINAL 2):
DRIVER REQ: Age 15 and older. 
ENGINE: Yamaha KT100 (only heads with OEM casting "Yamaha" and cylinders with Y3 or Y4 and 787 are legal) or Komet Piston Valve
FUEL: Spec Fuel. 
MINIMUM WEIGHTS: Yamaha: 340 lbs.; Komet: 365 lbs.
EXHAUST: SR-Y Pipe and RLV 9110 Header - 1.750" connector tube- 9.5" from piston to end of connector tube. See 554.7 in 2014 WKA Tech Manual. Komet - Komet Piston Valve Senior spec header and pipe. See Section 554.8 and Figure 554.8 in 2014 Tech Manual. HPV4 Pipe NOT LEGAL.
SPEC TIRE: Bridgestone YLC – 10 x 4.50-5 front, 11 x 7.10-5 rear.
OTHER: (1) No axle clutches. (2) Class runs both days for single national championship. (3) Race officials will monitor lap times during the first three race events and may make five-pound weight adjustments at the track to achieve parity between the two engine packages.

   

214.20 PARILLA SENIOR (FINAL 1 AND FINAL 2):
DRIVER REQ: Age 15 and older. 
ENGINE: Parilla Leopard & Parilla X30
MINIMUM WEIGHTS: Leopard: 365 lbs;  X30: 370 lbs.
FUEL: Spec Fuel
EXHAUST PIPE/SILENCER: Must be stock pipe as supplied by manufacturer for that specific engine. The minimum combined length of the header and connector pipe must be at least 15 3/4" as measured from the back side of the header flange at the cylinder, around the right side of the header, connector, and pipe to the first weld at the end of the divergent cone. See Section 610.4.2.
CARBURETOR: Must be stock carburetor as supplied by.
SPEC TIRE: Bridgestone YLC – 10 x 4.50 - 5 front, 11 x 7.10 - 5 rear
AIRBOX: Required. See Section 551 in 2014 WKA Tech Manual.
OTHER: (1) In the event that the engine cannot be started on the grid with the onboard starter, an auxiliary starter may be used. In any case, the onboard starter is subject to post race tech inspection to ensure that all components are present and correctly installed. 
(2) Class runs both days for single national championship. (3) Race officials will monitor lap times during the first three race events and may make five-pound weight adjustments at the track to achieve parity between the two engine packages.

  

214.17 TAG SENIOR (FINAL 1 AND FINAL 2):
DRIVER REQ: Age 15 and older. 
ENGINES & MINIMUM WEIGHTS: Cheetah SQ 125 – 350 lbs., Easykart IAME & BMB – 350 lbs., Motori Seven – 380 lbs, Parilla Leopard – 365 lbs., Parilla X-30 – 375 lbs., Rotax FR 125 – 365 lbs., Sonik TX 125 (125cc) – 385 lbs., Sonik VX 125 (118 cc) – 365 lbs.,, Vortex ROK TT – 385, PRD Fire Ball (2005 & 2008) 350 lbs. 
TIRES: Bridgestone YLB – 10 x 4.50 - 5 front, 11 x 7.10 - 5 rear
FUEL: Spec Fuel.
EXHAUST PIPE/SILENCER: Must be stock pipe as supplied by manufacturer for that specific engine. On the Sonik TX and Comer engines, the minimum combined length of the header and connector pipe must be at least 17" as measured from the back side of the header flange at the cylinder, around the right side of the header, connector, and pipe to the first weld at the end of the divergent cone. On the Parilla Leopard and ROK TT engines, the minimum combined length of the header and connector pipe must be at least 15 3/4". See Section 610.4.2.

ENGINES & MINIMUM WEIGHTS: Cheetah SQ 125 – 370 lbs., Easykart – 370 lbs., Motori Seven – 400 lbs., Parilla Leopard – 385 lbs., Parilla X-30 - 395 lbs., Rotax FR 125 – 385 lbs., Sonik TX 125 (125cc) – 405 lbs., Sonik VX 125 (118 cc) – 385 lbs., Vortex ROK TT – 405, PRD Fire Ball (2005 & 2007) 370 lbs. (Other engines and specifications TBA)
